You can’t make this stuff up!

You know the saying, “never a dull moment”, that really is truly our lives!  I don’t think there is a moment when we are together as a family that there is a dull moment!

Just in case I one day block this moment from my memory I must commit it to the blog!  The end of summer 2011 will be remembered as the time the girls got into my mom’s sewing scissors and CUT THEIR HAIR!!  Ava’s has turned into a cute bob, but Reese’s bangs….well….not a good look!  The worst part is that the girl thinks she looks good!  She loves the shorter than short bangs, and I’ve caught her on several occasions passing her reflection and whispering, “I look fabulous”!  I figured out who she looks like.  Have you seen Ramona and Beezus the movie?  Well folks, I’ve got Ramona Quimby, age 3 living at my house!

Bad Hair

Tonight, as I’m vacuuming Reese comes running over to me that Parker got out.  I go over to see the door wide open and Reese explaining that she was checking to see if Daddy was home yet and Parker ran out.  The girls and I journey through the neighborhood shouting her name, spotting her every so often.  We ended up getting her at a neighbors and started walking home only to have the neighbor dog get out and chase us down the street!  Owner gets dog back to it’s house and we continue on our way.  Of course Parker decides she has to poop when I don’t have a bag, and Ava screams at the top of her lungs that Parker is pooping.  As I’m trying to continue home discreetly like I didn’t see that just happen Reese runs right through the poop and it’s all over her shoe.

Seriously, never a dull moment!

December? I barely knew ya!

December blew in and blew out and the Jacob family barely knew what hit them! Now that the dust has settled from all the hustle and bustle we have a few pictures to remind us of the whirlwind month that was December. When you're running with a 2 and 3 yr old unfortunately not all moments get pictures!

Here's a few of my favorites!

Hangin with the Hoffman's

Santa PJ party at the Children's Discovery Museum. Ava loved all the exhibits, but didn't share that love for Santa!

Reese humored us and sat on Santa's lap

1st Christmas of the season, James Family! Ava and Reese singing Jingle Bells with Sandy and Lori

Everyone's favorite.....Rob your neighbor

Birky Christmas! Here's Reese opening up the present that would soon become the obstacle of the night. It's a jewelry box by the way.

Ava has never had any real interest in jewelry boxes or jewelry, but of course since she didn't get a jewelry box she was obsessed with it the entire night which caused fights, oh, I'd say every 2 minutes!!! Here she is holding it closely.

Brotherly love

Reese getting in on the brotherly love

What did Santa bring this year you ask? Vanities and Make-up!! Santa must have not wanted the gifts to be too girly because he surprised Ava, Reese and Mommy and brought a remote control dinosaur..hmmm...Santa just some info for next time, the girls are terrified of it and cry every time someone older wants to play with it! ;)

Reese showing Parker her gifts from Santa

Ava so proud of her make-up application

Samford Christmas! Bebe, Aunt Cole, Ava and Reese before the festivities begin!

Love this picture! Reese patiently waiting for her wings.

Love my girls!

Bebe and baby Jax...soon he won't be baby Jax anymore! He's almost 1!

I like to refer to this as New Year's baby. I don't even know how this picture came to be.

The original "kids" of the family, Wrigley and Parker

Samford family 2009

Jacob Christmas! Reese always a trendsetter!

I always love a good present madness shot!

Reese, Ava and Anabelle relaxing after a long day of play!
And that my friends is a glimpse at December!
Side note, for those of you that wonder why I can't get my act together and blog...it's because of moments like today. I get the girls breakfast and sit down to do the blog, all is good until Reese starts crying because Parker ate her waffle. Stop blogging - go and make Reese another waffle. Back to blogging, next up Reese needs to be changed. Stop blogging - change Reese. Back to blogging, Ava yells that she needs help in the bathroom. Stop blogging - help Ava in the bathroom. Back to blogging - Reese comes running downstairs bawling because Ava took her toy. Stop blogging - go and referee fight. Back to blogging, Reese back crying over same toy. Stop blogging - go and referee same fight. Back to blogging and I actually finished! Woohoo!
It looks like January is almost over, but I'll try to get back to blogging in February!

Jacob Home: Post-Christmas

One word best describes our home today as we wind down from our week long Christmas celebrations with all of our families......CHAOS!!!!!!

Presents are everywhere and the girls are still running 100mph since they have been on the go for the last few days. And even just now Ava is calling out "Let's get this Dora bowling party started right now" (one of her and Reese's new toys that they HAVE to play with right now!) Thanks, S,S,A and Z!

Despite the chaos today, we are truly lucky to have so much family to celebrate the holidays with!

Christmas posts to come! Lots of blog catching up to do!

Every room in our house is filled with Christmas after-math!

Jacob Girls+Super Heroes=Halloween 09

This year the girls followed the super heroes trend and dressed as Super Girl (Ava) and Wonder Woman (Reese). I had no idea super heroes would be so popular this year!!

Here they are starting off their fun filled night of trick or treating with Nana and PaPa Birky.

Shari Stuber was nice enough to provide us 2 big bags of candy! :-) The girls modeling their pumpkin bags.

Someone took their costume and their duties very serious!

This just makes me feel sick looking at it. Sucker in her mouth and bowl full of sugar in front of her.

Working those outfits!
