Reese's New 'Do!

We're interrupting the Easter posts to bring you little Reese's 1st haircut. She's been sporting the shaggy look the last few months, so I sucked it up and had our friend Nicole give her some bangs. For some reason I had a bang phobia. I think you'll agree that it's super cute look! :-)

All Hopped Up on Easter! (part 1)

We had so much Easter I need to break it up in to several posts, otherwise I will never get all the pictures posted.
Grandma and Paw Paw Jacob were in Florida over Easter weekend so they delivered their baskets early. They didn't get to see the girls open them, so we took lots of pictures for them. I had to choose a few out of the almost 200 that were taken (I'm not exaggerating).

I'll preface that I use the word Easter grass in this post a lot, but it really played an integral part in the whole experience!

Easter basket explosion (this moment inspired me to never put Easter grass in their baskets)

Thanks Grandma and Paw Paw! The girls had lots of fun with those baskets!

Nastics Finale

Ava's final night of gymnastics (aka Picture and Performance Night) occurred the same night Nicole was in labor, so needless to say the post of little Jaxon won out over gymnastics.

I must say our little 'nastics star had quite the audience and quite possibly the only audience in the whole class. These little girls are loved to pieces by their family, and are so lucky to have everyone in their lives who care so much about them.

Let's get right in to displaying the pictures of the performance night!

Since gymnastics is over we have moved on to swim lessons, which both girls love! I'll have to make that a whole separate post. Ava's new catch phrase, "I YIKE fwimming!" to which Reese responds with that high pitched Scooby Doo noise she makes!

Ground Breaking....Samford Family Style

Yes, we're odd, but I think my family has always been considered a little odd, so we embrace it!

My parents are getting ready to embark on the journey that is building a house with their son-in-law (Seth) designing and building it. If that's not a recipe for family disaster, I don't know what is! :-) Kidding! Anyway, the building process is about to get started so we had a "Ground Breaking" photo op today.

Reese surveyed the grounds for us.

She was working so hard the poor baby cut her cheek!

Jacob Sisters - my mom made these cute sweaters for them. Brightened up the brown around us!

Samford Sisters (now she's just days away....and I'm sure not appreciating me posting this!)

More house and baby progress to come!

Cole's Shower!

On Sunday we had my sister Nicole's shower. I had hyped up the shower to Ava all morning and she kept talking about how she was going to go to "Cole's Shower". As the shower went on during the day, Ava kept saying, "I go Cole's shower" and I would say, we're at Cole's shower, and it would be a back and forth debate about her going to Cole's shower. As you will see from one of the pics below, the shower didn't have much of an impact on her, she was looking for something better apparently!

The lovely Aunt Cole, just weeks away! I made her hold the animal balloon....I don't know why

Nicole's sister-in-law Kristen (shower co-host) made this adorable diaper cake

Some decor from the day (Giant animal balloons can benefit any party!)

Soon to be Grandma Davis and Bebe (we'll see if baby Davis calls my mom by that)

The diaper bag that my mom and I made for Nicole

Ava painting her toes while Nicole opens gifts (can't be bothered by gifts if they are not for her)

Reese was entertained by the balloons ALL day. Here she is with Great-Grandma James

Can't wait for the day I get to post my new nephew's pic on the blog! I've been anxiously waiting my turn to be the crazy aunt at the hospital! :-)
